Gingerbread Home

My companion and I were wondering down the aisles of Walgreens looking at all the Christmas mark-downs when I happened upon a Cinderella Dream Gingerbread Castle Kit. It was complete with candies, a Cinderella cut-out and blue frosting. We did what any logical people would do: We gladly purchased the castle! On Monday Sister Mitchell and I assembled it. (pictured below) Isn't is a beaut? We are so artistic. haha. We each decorated two walls for the castle. I spilled frosting everywhere...Oops. I may have cut the hole to the frosting tube too wide, so it came out in huge globs. I'm just happy that Sister Mitchell warned me about the frosting between my eyebrows before we took the picture. When the walls of the castle were done, it was time for us to glue them together with our blue icing. It wouldn't stay, so we lathered on massive amounts of blue icing between every crack until it was forced to stay in place. It is pretty stable now, and pretty much a masterpiece.

Real homes, like gingerbread homes, also need stability. Prophets in this time have given council on how we can keep our homes stable even midst the chaos called life. ( See The Family: A Proclamation to the World) Just like the frosting glued our gingerhome together, the gospel of Jesus Christ will glue our actual homes together. I know that as we lather the gospel of Christ into our families and homes that we will have a firm foundation. This will make our homes our greatest masterpieces!
