Get Rich

A friend related a story to me on memorial day. She said that while she was a little girl growing up in Sierra Leone she was very content with what she had.She said they were surrounded by beaches. Beautiful beaches. As a young girl she and her friends would walk around the beautiful landscape and admire it. She said many times they would see beautiful diamonds, gems, and other glistening stones laying around. Sometimes they were in large quantities, but she and her friends did not pay much attention to them. They were ignorant of the value of those precious jewels. Now, as an adult having seen a lot and having lived in several countries, she realizes she could have made a lot of money mining those easy-to-get diamonds-- The ones she and her friends so casually passed by missing the fortune they might have known.

The most valuable thing on this Earth is the knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ which is contained within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Many people pass by the church because they do not understand the worth, just like my friend passed by those rubies. I know as a missionary it is my job to share my knowledge of the value of this church which is a far greater and deeper value than any earthly treasure. I know that if people would sincerely seek out the rubies or seek out what the value of this Church is, they would see that it is of incomprehensible value.
